Arvind Kejriwal made announcement for sanitation workers at AAP office in Delhi.
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made the announcement for the sanitation workers on Sunday morning. He said- If the Central Government gives land on subsidy, then we will build houses on it and give ownership rights to the sanitation workers in easy installments. The matter of land in Delhi is under the Centre, hence a letter has been written to PM Modi in this regard.
Kejriwal said that we hope the Prime Minister will agree to this, because it is about the welfare of the poor and as the PM has also said that the welfare schemes will continue to be implemented in Delhi.
Kejriwal has made 8 announcements in the last 2 months. Earlier on January 18, it had been announced that if the election was won then free electricity and water would be provided to the tenants living in Delhi.
Kejriwal’s letter to PM, 3 points…
Kejriwal wrote- Prime Minister, I am writing this letter from the sanitation workers working in NDMC and MCD areas. These workers are the backbone of our city’s sanitation system. They live in houses provided by the government during their employment, but after retirement they have to vacate these houses.
They are unable to buy their own homes or afford expensive rented accommodation in Delhi, leaving them and their families in an insecure situation. Since land related matters in Delhi come under the control of the Central Government, you are requested to provide land at concessional rates to the sanitation workers. The Delhi government will build houses for them on these lands and the employees will repay the cost of these houses to the government in easy installments.
This is the problem of all government employees, especially the lower class employees. Therefore, I request you that this scheme should be started with sanitation workers and then implemented for all government employees. I am confident that you will agree to this proposal and will work on it by making an action plan soon.
