The parents of a female junior resident doctor, who was raped and murdered at Kar Medical College in August, have created a Facebook account to get justice for their daughter. The title of this Facebook account has been kept ‘Truth and Justice: Voice for RG Kar Victim’. The victim’s parents have uploaded a written and a video message on their Facebook page in which they have sought help in getting justice for their daughter.
The message posted on the Facebook page said, “Justice for our daughter. We stand strong, but we cannot achieve this alone. Your voice, your support and your love will make a difference. We will expose injustice.” Together we can hope and demand what is right. Please join us in sharing and supporting.” In the hashtag he has written ‘Justice for our daughter’ and ‘Justice for RGKar’.
The faces of the victim’s parents are blurred in the video message. He said that it has been almost six months since the incident and till now he does not know exactly what happened to his daughter that night. In the video message, he claimed, “Earlier Kolkata Police was conducting the investigation and we felt that it was not going in the right direction. Therefore, we applied in the Calcutta High Court to hand over the investigation to a better agency. After this, the Central Investigation has been handed over to the CBI, but no concrete progress has been made in the investigation.
