Bhaskar: If you had to have Dhuni darshan then why did it take three days?
Lakshyaraj: I have said it many times. Then I say that there was no question of not giving darshan. The point was to do things in a civilized manner. Hooliganism should not be committed. Do not make display of power a medium. This does not happen by bringing people and standing at the door, committing hooliganism, raising slogans and taking the law in hand.
We only wanted that dignity should be maintained in the temple, discipline should be maintained, manners should be maintained. A feeling remains. I don’t feel like going for darshan by crowding and spoiling the atmosphere. A dignified darshan was to be given and that is what happened.
Bhaskar: You had informed the administration earlier, were you afraid that the atmosphere would worsen?
Lakshyaraj: I want to make it clear that we had referred to 1984. That day in 1984, my father had to face guns and swords. My 9 and 5 year old sisters were in danger of dying. That was the truth of that time. Then father said that we need to be very cautious. There is no need to take law into one’s hands.
Therefore, here we gave information through newspapers in the entire state. How people took the law into their hands that night, tried to cause harm and created a situation that took lives. The truth which is now coming out. If you wanted to go for darshan, it was not an environment for darshan. The truth will come out and the investigation of that day will also come out.
Bhaskar: You become emotional on the topic of 1984. What was the matter, please explain in detail?
Lakshyaraj: Look, it is not an emotional thing, it is the truth. The way people attacked with swords and guns. My 9 and 6 year old sister and father all three would have lost their lives. You saw a very small version of it here three days ago. Seeing the ruckus that broke out at 1.30 that night, memories of 1984 were refreshed.
This was not a separate story. There was a big conspiracy behind this. This story has been told by these people before also. Those intentions start from there. It was a very painful incident and cannot be forgotten. That picture appears in front of the sisters.
Bhaskar: Why did you not attend the funeral of Mahendra Singh Mewar?
Lakshyaraj: In this, today I can clearly say that I have conveyed this to my close and trusted person that Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar does not need to come. If they come, bring your security with them. This message was conveyed to me.
We knew what his thoughts, intentions and desires were. You can abuse me, criticize me, threaten me, it doesn’t matter, but you should know the truth. They don’t want to know the truth, they want to follow a one-sided approach.
Bhaskar: You are saying that threats are being made, so what about security?
Lakshyaraj: The administration knows what happened on the ground that day. Collector and SP everyone knows what kind of threats are being received. They are responsible people. He knows everything. The city also knows. He will show seriousness regarding his work and the safety of citizens.
Bhaskar: You gave a strong statement regarding the incident of 25th November, what was its meaning?
Lakshyaraj: Hooliganism will not work. The administration cooperated and imposed Section 144 and restored law and order. We are not worshipers of violence. We didn’t want this from day one. This was clearly visible in our action. Had this not happened, we would not have informed the administration and the government five days in advance.
We do not want the atmosphere to deteriorate. We knew where its foundation lay. Bring me back to 1984. An attempt was being made to do this work under a well-planned conspiracy and conspiracy.
We are people living in a civilized society. We followed the law and constitution of the country. The family which has lived through the painful accident knows everything. How the atmosphere was spoiled that day. All these spoil the atmosphere for darshan. A public representative who is elected does not have any responsibility? They were saying that we do not want to spoil the atmosphere, then why is there such a difference between your words and actions? If you have your own wishes then your supporters are not listening to you.
Bhaskar: There were many public statements about you?
Lakshyaraj: It is unfortunate. How he tried to use an emotional thought for his political benefit. If it was a matter of darshan, I have not gone to the temple for 38 years. Despite this, if people want to criticize then they can do so. We know very well that monuments are never built for those who criticize.
Bhaskar: Why the protest against the President’s visit to the Palace and the G-20 being organized in the Palace?
Lakshyaraj: The visit took place and the G-20 program took place. What this proved was that the place would be right. Only when these programs are eligible will the program be held. Udaipur had the first position in G-20 for the entire country and letters are being written against it. What a small and condemnable thing. Country and world level programs took place here. The whole world was watching.
The first citizen of the country was coming here and we are teaching her the lessons of law and dignity. He has all the information. It is our responsibility to respect and honor them. Udaipur got its name from those programs. It is not right for an elected public representative to do such irresponsible actions.
Bhaskar: The atmosphere deteriorated for three days. What message will you give to the city residents?
Lakshyaraj: This happened because of one man’s arrogance and thinking. Had we negotiated in a dignified and legal manner and not demonstrated power, perhaps this would have happened earlier. We will not allow hooliganism to happen.
