This time the 38th National Games will be organized in Uttarakhand. The opening ceremony of the tournament was organized from 15 December. A total of 42 training camps have been organized to prepare players for the National Games, in which 1260 players are participating. The state has called in experienced coaches from other states and abroad to provide better training.

Traditional sports of Uttarakhand such as Yoga and Malkhamb have been included in the main events of the National Games. Indian Olympic Association Chief PT Usha announced this during the event. All games will be held in these cities
The Sports Minister also gave information about the venues for various competitions of the 38th National Games. There will be 16 competitions in Dehradun, 3 in Haridwar, 3 in Rudrapur, 8 in Haldwani, 1 in Tehri and 1 in Rishikesh Shivpuri. Apart from this, Yoga will be organized in Pauri, Malkhamb in Almora, Rafting in Tanakpur and Kalaripattu in Dehradun as exhibition games.
