According to sources, LG Saxena told Atishi that, he had warned his boss Arvind Kejriwal about the ‘curse of Yamuna’, as he had approached the Supreme Court to stop a project for cleaning the river. According to LG House sources, Atishi did not respond to LG’s comment.
2 year old dispute In January 2023, a high level committee was formed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to reduce the pollution of Yamuna. As soon as the committee started its work, Kejriwal expressed his support and offered assistance.
However, the Delhi government later challenged the NGT order in the Supreme Court. Delhi government lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that a domain expert should lead the panel. The court had stayed this. This ban has been intact for more than 2 years.

Kejriwal will meet Punjab CM and ministers on February 11
