Actually, today is the last day of this fair which lasts for 5 days. According to the belief prevalent since the Ramayana period, Litti-Chokha is offered to Lord Shri Ram on the 5th and last day. Regarding Panchkosi Parikrama Mela Yatra, it is said that Lord Ram, Lakshman and Maharishi Vishwamitra had come to Buxar in Treta Yuga.
