Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi, who reached Prayagraj on a two-day visit, not only inspected the preparations being made in the fair area for the convenience and safety of the devotees and tourists, but also the preparations being made in this regard in Prayagraj city and surrounding districts. In this meeting held in the ICC auditorium located at the Prayagraj Fair Authority office, the Chief Minister took turns taking information from all the departments related to the Maha Kumbh arrangements about their preparations. Taking information related to security and traffic management from police officers, the Chief Minister directed to further improve intelligence, while also saying that there should be better arrangements for quick response in case of any kind of emergency/disaster. He said that whichever sector the officer is posted in, he should rest at night in that sector. It is natural to have huge pressure of crowd in Mahakumbh. For this reason, an action plan for crowd management should be prepared and its practicality should also be tested. He expressed the need to maintain constant police patrolling on the routes coming towards Prayagraj from other districts. Giving instructions to run a special cleanliness campaign for two days before Paush Purnima, the Chief Minister appealed to the public representatives to participate in it. He also directed that there should be no encroachment anywhere, be it Prayagraj city or the fair area.
The fair officer informed the Chief Minister that the necessary police force has been deployed for the Maha Kumbh. All doctors and paramedical staff have been deployed. So far, all 30 pontoon bridges, all 626 signages, 635 km checkered route, 503 km DIP lines for drinking water, 573 km GIP lines, 5,590 drinking water stand posts, 200 km drainage clearance lines, 54,700 street lights, 173 km HT lines, 1,310 Km LT line, 227 electricity sub stations have been established. Similarly, availability of adequate beds has been ensured in private and government hospitals of Prayagraj city, including one with 100 beds, two with 25 beds each, four with 20 beds each and burn unit with 60 beds.
While giving instructions to the Jal Nigam, the Chief Minister said that pure drinking water and clean toilet facilities should be available to every devotee. Where drinking water pipeline is not lying, arrangements should be made immediately. Expressing satisfaction over the preparations, the Chief Minister directed to increase manpower to complete the remaining works within the stipulated time.
On the first day of his visit to Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi had dinner with saints and sages and also presented them gifts. Respected saints of all the Akharas, Khakchowk, Dandibada and Acharyabada were present in this dinner. After this banquet organized by the Chief Minister, gifts were also presented to all the saints. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to all the saints for attending the feast.
