mahakumbh mela 2025: Ravi Kishan’s appeal to youth to join Mahakumbh with parents

mahakumbh mela 2025: Kumbh is a festival of faith, belief and tradition. On his association with Kumbh, actor and MP Ravi Kishan has talked to Urmila Kori about his memories as well as the preparations for this time. Highlights of the conversation

I connect directly with Shiva

In the last Kumbh, I had performed Shiva Tandav with my group. It was a wonderful experience. I will attend Kumbh this time on 13th January. Like last time, this time too I have a live staging of Shiv Tandav. Apart from this, I am also going to do Shiv Path. I am a performer. Everyone knows this, but while performing at Kumbh, I feel directly connected to Lord Shiva. The atmosphere there is like this. A different atmosphere is created by the chants of Har Har Gange, Har Har Mahadev. There is a gathering of sadhus, saints and Aghoris. Worship, recitation, sermons, everything goes on simultaneously, which brings you closer to your idol. .

Kumbh used to come with father in childhood

I have many memories related to Mahakumbh. Everyone knows that my father has been a priest, so worship has been very important in my house since childhood. Whenever Kumbh was organized in my childhood, everyone including my family used to come to take a dip in the Ganga. At that time, there were no good arrangements in Kumbh like at present. We used to go through a lot of difficulties, but we are getting the blessings of Mother Ganga. We were happy only with this thing. Mother Ganga was caressing me lovingly. I felt like this with every dip. I am sure that this time too when I take a dip in the Sangam, it will be the same experience. It is said that by taking bath in Kumbh one attains living salvation. After taking a dip in Ganga, the mind really becomes very light.

i am spiritual

Talking about myself, I consider myself spiritual, not religious. I feel like I am on a spiritual journey right now. During this time, I am reading more and more about Sanatan Dharma, our Gurus and our traditions. I think the more you read, the more you understand things. You become more connected to your roots. However, the culture of worship in my house continues even after my father’s death. Our entire family is vegetarian. My daughters don’t even eat garlic and onion. I am very happy that my wife has given such a good upbringing to the children that they are proud of being Sanatani and are so attached to their tradition.

youth connect with their parents

Mahakumbh 2025 is moving towards becoming a global cultural event. This time new standards of cleanliness, safety and facilities will be set. I think this Kumbh is going to be memorable. Devotees are going to be a part of it in record breaking numbers. I would appeal to the youth to get involved in it as much as possible so that they can understand their Sanatani tradition. The young generation needs to understand that people from all over the country and abroad are coming to the Mahakumbh, but despite living in India, they are coming to Prayagraj. If you are not able to join Mahakumbh then you are making a big mistake. We are Hindus. How are we Hindus? What are our roots? What are our gods and goddesses? What is our history. What are our mythological stories. This earth belongs to heaven. You need to understand and accept all this. By following the West, we will only learn unfulfilled things, which later leads to disappointment, frustration and depression. Our Sanatani tradition makes you stay connected to yourself and your strong roots, which also makes you stronger as a human being. And what could be a better experience than Kumbh.
