The first Amrit Snan (Shahi Snan) of Maha Kumbh is today. On Makar Sankranti, saints and sages of Shaiva, Shakta and Vaishnav sects from 13 Akharas will take bath in the Sangam. Juna Akhara is ready for the first royal bath. After some time the sages and saints will leave for the Sangam.
Each Akhara has been given 30 to 40 minutes time. Along with Juna Akhara, Kinnar Akhara will also take bath. In view of the huge crowd, after the fair, no entry of vehicles has been made in Prayagraj city also.
This time the name of Shahi Snan has been changed to Amrit Snan. Devotees from more than 50 countries have reached Mahakumbh to witness the Amrit Snan. According to estimates, more than 2 crore devotees will take bath on Makar Sankranti (today). On Paush Purnima, 1.65 crore devotees took a dip in the Sangam.
Sangam Ghat will be reserved for Akharas. Devotees will be able to take bath at the remaining ghats. On the festival of Makar Sankranti, the nectar bath of the Akharas will last for about 9 and a half hours. However, it will take more than 12 hours to leave the camp and return.

First of all, Naga sadhus and saints of Mahanirvani and Atal Akhara will take bath.
The time for taking bath in Amrit Snan has been fixed for the saints of Akharas and Naga Sadhus. First of all the saints of Mahanirvani and Atal Akhara will take bath. They will depart from the camp at around 5.15 am and will reach Sangam at 6.15 am. There will be nectar bath for about 40 minutes.
After this, the saints of Niranjani and Anand Akhara will take bath at 7.05 pm. In this sequence, the saints of Juna, Avahan and Panch Agni Akhara will take bath together at 8 in the morning. After this, the saints of Nirvani, Digambar and Nirmohi Akhara will take bath at 10.40, 11.20 and 12.20 respectively.
After this, the saints of Naya Panchayati Akhara will take bath at 1.15 pm and those of Bada Panchayati at 2.20 pm. The saints of Nirmal Panchayati Akhara will finally take bath from 3.40 to 4.20 pm. After this they will reach their camps at around 5.20 pm.
