According to the information received from the police, a person from Delhi brought his wife to Prayagraj on the pretext of taking a dip in the Mahakumbh and later killed her. The police have identified the accused as 48 -year -old Ashok Kumar. The police got information about this murder from the hotel. Police investigation revealed that the accused told the housemates and his child that his mother was lost in Kumbh Mela. The police later arrested the accused Ashok.

Ashok hails from Delhi

According to the information, Ashok is a cleaning worker in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and is a resident of Trilokpuri. DCP City Abhishek Bharti hired the Joint Police Team of Jhansi police station, SOG Nagar and Surveillance Cell Nagar for the disclosure of this murder case. When the police carried forward the scope of their investigation, it was found that the unidentified woman (deceased) had come to Prayagraj from New Delhi to bathe at Mahakumbh Mela on the night of 18 February with her husband. Both of them stayed on renting a room in Azad Nakar Kewatana of Jhunsi. On the morning of February 19, in the bathroom next to the room, the woman was murdered with a sharp weapon and leaving her body and ran away from the spot.

Solve made a case in 48 hours

According to DCP Abhishek Bharti, an application was given by the room owner in this regard. After this, the police sent the body for postmortem. DCP Abhishek Bharti told NDTV that with the help of the CCTV camera around the scene, the evidence was collected, publishing photographs of the unknown deceased in social media platforms and newspapers.

On February 21, brother identified the dead woman

On 21 February, the deceased woman’s brother Pravesh Kumar and both sons Ashwani and Adarsh ​​Jhunsi reached the police station and they were told about the body of an unknown woman. After this, photos and clothes of Mrita were shown. After this, the deceased woman’s brother confirmed she is her sister. After this, the police intensified the investigation of the case and also recorded the statement of the deceased woman’s brother.

Ashok arrested Ashok

DCP Abhishek Bharti said that the police have arrested the accused husband by revealing this blind murder in just 48 hours. After executing his wife’s murder, the vicious husband Ashok told the police and family members that his wife was lost in the crowd of the fair. Accused Ashok Kumar has been arrested. During interrogation, it was found that Ashok is a resident of Trilokpuri in East Delhi and had an illicit relationship with a woman. He was plotting to kill his wife Meenakshi for the last three months.

Both left for Prayagraj from Delhi on 17 February

According to the police, on February 17, accused Ashok left for Prayagraj from his wife Minakshi New Delhi. On 18 February, both of them reached Jhansi Prayagraj and rented the room. There was some debate from the wife in the room. When the wife Minakshi was in the bathroom, the accused Ashok got angry and caught her from behind and strangled her with a knife and killed her. On 19 February, Ashok called his son Ashish and told that your mother is lost in the fair. The vicious Ashok had earlier put a video of his wife on the social media account. Before hiding, Ashok had filed a complaint of disappearance by going to the concerned police station and uploaded the video of himself and his wife’s Kumbh Mela and bathing on his social media account, so that an excuse could be made but the vicious husband is now now Police is in clutches.
