Congress spokesperson and head of social media department Supriya Shrinet, citing a video viral on social media platforms, also said that the Election Commission cannot remain a mute spectator on this serious issue that came to light a day before voting. Supriya said, “BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde had openly reached a hotel to distribute money. Five crore rupees in cash have been recovered from them. Along with this, a diary has been found with him, in which there is an account of Rs 15 crore.
He asked, “Why is this money being distributed just hours before the elections?” The rule says that no one can live in any other constituency after the election campaign is over, so what was Vinod Tawde doing in Virar area?” He said that this is an insult to the self-respect of Maharashtra. Referring to another case, Supriya claimed that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has hidden the truth about the expenditure related to various projects in Maharashtra from the people of the state.
