‘Manmohan Singh will be remembered for bringing India-America closer’: America –

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed deep condolences on the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Blinken said that Manmohan Singh played an important role in strengthening US-India relations. Blinken praised Dr. Manmohan Singh’s leadership and said he played an important role in pursuing economic reforms in India and promoting the US-India strategic partnership. He will always be remembered for his dedication to bringing the United States and India closer, including through the US-India civil nuclear cooperation agreement.

Blinken said, “The United States offers its heartfelt condolences to the people of India on the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Dr. Singh was one of the greatest supporters of the US-India strategic partnership and his work over the past It laid the foundation for much of what our countries have achieved together over two decades.

He will be remembered for economic reforms- Blinken

Blinken said his leadership in pursuing the US-India civil nuclear cooperation agreement indicated that US-India relations could be much better. For this reason, both the countries started initiatives to improve relations between themselves. According to Blinken, in India, Dr. Manmohan Singh will be remembered for his economic reforms, which fueled India’s rapid economic growth. He said “We mourn Dr. Singh’s passing and will always remember his dedication to bringing the United States and India closer together.”

Manmohan had fainted at home

Manmohan Singh died on Thursday evening at the age of 92 at AIIMS, Delhi due to age-related ailments. He suddenly fainted at home, after which he was taken to Delhi AIIMS. Delhi AIIMS said in a statement “With great sadness, we announce the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at the age of 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and died on 26 December 2024. He suddenly became unconscious and was brought to AIIMS, New Delhi at 8:06 pm. Despite all efforts, he could not be saved. Was declared dead.”

Rajya Sabha MP for 33 years

Dr. Manmohan Singh retired from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year after serving for 33 years. Born in Punjab in 1932, he served two terms as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. He first assumed office in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections following the victory of the Congress Party by defeating the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA. He served a second term from 2009 to 2014 and was succeeded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. (Input- ANI)
