Meta has apologized to the Indian government for its owner Mark Zuckerberg’s comments regarding the 2024 general elections. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently claimed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that after Covid-19, elections were held in many countries and the governments of many countries including India fell. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had said that after Covid-19, there has been change of government in almost all the countries of the world including India, which shows the lack of trust among the people towards the governments.

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav Had expressed displeasure over Mark Zuckerberg’s statement. Now Meta India Vice President (Public Policy) Shivanand Thukral has apologized for this statement of Mark Zuckerberg. Shivanand Thukral said, “Dear Honorable Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Mark’s observation that many existing parties were not re-elected in the 2024 elections is true for many countries, but not for India. We have made this unintentional mistake. India remains an incredibly important country for Meta and we look forward to being at the center of its innovative future.
As the world’s largest democracy, India conducted the 2024 elections with over 640 million voters. People of India reaffirmed their trust in NDA led by PM @narendramodi Ji’s leadership.
