‘Modi worshiped those whom no one asked…’: Prime Minister inaugurated the ‘Gramin Bharat Mahotsav’, said – village poverty was 26% in 2012, now it is 5%

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (January 4, 2025) inaugurated the ‘Gramin Bharat Mahotsav 2025’ at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, which will run till January 9. During this, PM Modi said that as soon as the government was formed in the year 2014, many steps were taken to make rural India prosperous. Its results also started coming. PM Modi said that when the intentions are good, the results are also satisfactory.

The Prime Minister said that the BJP government has made special policies for every section of the village. He said, “Since 2014, I have been continuously, every moment, engaged in the service of rural India. It is the priority of my government to provide a dignified life to the village people. Our vision is that the rural people of India should become empowered, they should get maximum opportunities to progress in the villages themselves, they should not have to migrate.”

He said, “To make life easier for the villagers, we launched a campaign to guarantee basic facilities in every village. Just two-three days ago, the Cabinet has approved the continuation of ‘PM Crop Insurance Scheme’ for one more year. The price of DAP is increasing in the world, but we decided that we will not let the burden on the farmer’s head and have kept the price of DAP stable by increasing the subsidy.

He said, “Apart from agriculture, many people work in different types of traditional arts and skills in our village. They have made a big contribution to the rural economy and local economy, but earlier they too were neglected. Now we are running PM Vishwakarma Yojana for them. This scheme is giving an opportunity to lakhs of Vishwakarma associates of the country to move forward.”

Regarding the problems of backward and Dalit society, PM Modi said, “Earlier governments did not pay attention to the needs of SC-ST-OBC. Migration from villages continued, poverty continued to increase, the gap between village and city continued to increase. Modi worships those whom no one asked about. Areas which were deprived of development for decades are now getting equal rights.”

Citing an SBI report, the Prime Minister said, “Just yesterday the State Bank of India report came, according to which rural poverty in India was about 26 percent in 2012. Whereas rural poverty in India has reduced to less than 5 percent in 2024.” “The intentions, policies and decisions of our government are filling rural India with new energy,” he said.
