Navdunia Representative, Bhopal. The action taken after six years against the prostitution trade flourishing under the guise of spa centers has exposed the police department. Last week, the police crackdown on spa centers revealed the truth about three policemen involved in the dirty business.
The policemen who are responsible for curbing unethical activities, get bribes and then the entire department turns a blind eye.
More than 200 spa centers in the city
This is just an example of the protection that spa centers get from the police, because till now the police has taken action only on four spa centers, whereas there are more than 200 spa centers operating in the city, most of which are related to prostitution.
The involvement of policemen in these serious cases of prostitution shows that people violating the law are not only supporting criminals, but they are also undermining the confidence in the safety net of the society.
Suspended policemen were in contact with spa operators for a long time
On Saturday, the crime branch had planned to raid 15 spa centers in the city. Along with three police stations, four centers were raided, in which 68 young men and women were caught doing immoral acts.
When news of the police raid reached other spa operators, they immediately closed their centers and ran away. When the arrested accused were taken to the police station, constable Khushboo Chandel posted in the women’s police station and crime branch constable Sunil Chandel extorted Rs 1 lakh from them by threatening them of going to jail.
Suspension action against all three policemen
At the same time, constable Narendra Gurjar posted at Bagsevania police station was also conducting illegal activities in a spa center under his protection. After investigation, higher officials have taken suspension action against all three policemen.
A high-level investigation is underway into the involvement of policemen in the operation of spa centres. Along with this, the officers are investigating on the basis of call details of the policemen posted in the police station.
Action started for food supply, but how will unethical activities be controlled?
After the police crackdown at spa centers, now on the orders of higher officials, some police stations have started Khanapurti. He has taken action against the operators for not providing information about the people working in the spa centers operating in the police station areas.
Govindpura and MPnagar police station have registered cases against about 20 such operators in the last three days. But the big question is that how will the unethical activities conducted in spa centers be controlled by mere verification of employees? It is necessary to control this business happening in the city.
