  1. PM Modi will launch ‘Mission Mausam’ on the 150th foundation day of IMD. Its objective is to make the country ‘weather ready’ and ‘climate smart’.

1. 1.65 crore people took a dip in the Sangam on the first day of Maha Kumbh; Devotees arrived from 20 countries

Flowers were showered on the devotees from the helicopter. Helicopters and NSG commandos kept an eye on the people coming to Mahakumbh.

On the first day of Mahakumbh, more than 1 crore 65 lakh people took a dip in the Sangam in Prayagraj. On the day of Paush Purnima, there were arrangements for bathing at 44 ghats. Devotees from 20 countries including Germany, Brazil, Russia took a dip in the Kumbh. Lakhs of devotees started the 45 day Kalpavas. 60 thousand soldiers are deployed in security arrangements. The first Amrit (royal) bath will take place in Mahakumbh today on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

2. Inauguration of Sonmarg Tunnel: PM Modi said – I keep my promise; Omar said- Hopefully the promise of statehood will also be fulfilled

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the inauguration of Sonamarg Tunnel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Z Mod Tunnel in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. The 6.4 km long double lane tunnel will connect Srinagar to Sonamarg. This will provide all weather connectivity. Modi said, ‘You must believe that this is Modi, he promises and keeps them.’ Omar Abdullah said, ‘Hopefully the promise of statehood of Jammu and Kashmir will also be fulfilled.’

What will be the benefits of Z turn tunnel: The distance of one hour between Gagangir and Sonamarg on Srinagar-Leh Highway will now be covered in 15 minutes. Apart from this, the speed of vehicles will also increase from 30 km/hr to 70 km/hr. Earlier it took 3-4 hours to cross this inaccessible hilly area. 3. High Court said on CAG report – Doubt on honesty of Delhi Government, discussion had to be held in Assembly The CAG report regarding Delhi liquor policy was heard in the High Court. On January 11, 7 BJP MLAs had filed a petition regarding the leaked report. Delhi High Court reprimanded the Atishi government and said-

The Delhi government has pulled back, which raises doubts about its honesty. The report should have been sent to the Speaker and immediately discussed in the Assembly.

BJP made CAG report an election weapon: On January 11, a CAG report was leaked, regarding which BJP held a press conference. BJP leaders had quoted the report as saying that the Delhi government has suffered a revenue loss of Rs 2026 crore due to the liquor policy.
