1. Sanjay Roy found guilty in Kolkata rape-murder case, sentence to be announced on January 20

Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, has been convicted. Sealdah Court gave its verdict on the basis of forensic report, the punishment will be announced on January 20. CBI has demanded death sentence for Sanjay. Meanwhile, on the decision, Sanjay said-
I have been framed. I did not do this work. Those who have done this have been let go. An IPS is included in it.
First know about this case: A trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Hospital on the night of 8-9 August. On the morning of 9 August, the doctor’s body was found in the seminar hall. On the basis of CCTV footage, the police arrested a civic volunteer named Sanjay Roy on August 10. On August 13, the investigation was handed over to CBI. After the incident, demonstrations took place across the country including Kolkata. Health services were at a standstill in Bengal for more than 2 months. Read the full news here…
2. AAP’s allegation- Kejriwal’s car attacked with stones; BJP said- Former CM ran the vehicle on the workers
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has tweeted this video on social media platform X.
Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that people of BJP candidate Parvesh Verma attacked Kejriwal with bricks and stones during the election campaign. The party also shared its video on X. Whereas BJP candidate Pravesh Verma accused Kejriwal of attacking party workers. Pravesh said, ‘When BJP workers were asking questions, Kejriwal hit three youths with his car.’
AAP promises to provide free electricity and water to tenants: AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal made an election promise of providing free electricity and water to tenants. Schemes for free electricity and water are already implemented for Delhiites. A day earlier, BJP had promised to give ₹ 2500 subsidy every month to women and ₹ 500 subsidy on cylinders to poor women. 3. Saif Ali Khan attack case: Suspect detained from Chhattisgarh; 50 people were interrogated A suspect was detained from Durg in Chhattisgarh in the attack case on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The suspect was identified on the basis of photographs sent from Mumbai. More than 50 people have been interrogated in the case.
Kareena recorded her statement: According to Kareena, ‘The attacker was very aggressive. I was nervous after the incident, so Karishma took me to her home. Saif tried to save the women and children. When they intervened, the attacker could not reach Jahangir (Kareena-Saif’s younger son). He did not steal anything from the house. Read the full news here…
4. Team India announced for Champions Trophy, Shami returns, Bumrah will also play; 4 allrounder BCCI announced the Indian team for the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma will be the captain and Shubman Gill will be the vice-captain. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has returned to the team after a year. Jasprit Bumrah, who was injured during the Australia tour, has also been included in the team. 4 all-rounders have been kept in the squad. The Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan and UAE from 19 February. All India’s matches will be played in Dubai.

5. 2 judges murdered in Iran’s Supreme Court; He was called Hangman because he sentenced more people to death.
Ali Rajini and Moghiseh, who were killed in the attack, were counted among Iran’s senior judges.
A person opened fire at the Supreme Court in Tehran, Iran. Two judges died in the attack. Both the judges were called hangmen because of their high death sentence. The attacker entered the judges’ rooms and shot them, then committed suicide. Both the judges were hearing cases of national security, terrorism and espionage. Another judge and bodyguard were also injured in the attack.
The reason for the murder is not known: The attacker was an employee of the Justice Department. According to Iran International, several people have been arrested from the court house in Tehran. The reason for the attack has not been known. There was also an attempt to assassinate Judge Ali Rajini in 1988, a magnetic bomb was planted in his bike. Read the full news here…

1904 Olympic gold auctioned for ₹4 crore
‘Olympiad 1904’ is written on the medal and there is a picture of the winning athlete.
The gold medal won in the US Olympics in 1904 was auctioned for Rs 4 crore 72 lakh. This medal made entirely of gold was won by American athlete Frederick William Shule in 110 m. Won the hurdle race. The ribbon attached to it and the leather case that houses it are also in fine condition.
