1. Train accident in Maharashtra, 12 people died; When rumor of fire spread, people jumped on the track

The incident occurred at 4:42 pm between Maheji and Pardhade near Pachora station in Jalgaon.

A train accident occurred near Pachora station in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. In which 12 people died, 40 were injured. Rumors spread about fire in Pushpak Express going from Lucknow to Mumbai. Some passenger pulled the chain. Frightened passengers jumped from the train. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Express coming on the other track crushed many passengers.

Smoke came out from the wheels of the train when brakes were applied: Karnataka Express (12627) was going from Bengaluru to New Delhi. While Pushpak Express (12533) was going from Lucknow to Mumbai. According to a senior railway official, a spark occurred inside a coach of Pushpak Express near Jalgaon due to ‘hot axle’ or ‘brake-binding (jamming)’ and some passengers got scared. 2. Two students committed suicide in Kota, NEET student and JEE student hanged themselves.

Two students committed suicide within 2 hours in Kota, Rajasthan. A 23-year-old NEET student from Ahmedabad was preparing for JEE, while an 18-year-old student from Assam was preparing for JEE. Both the students lived in different PGs in Jawahar Nagar area. Despite the guidelines, the fans in the rooms did not have hanging devices. So far, 6 students have committed suicide in Kota in January 2025.

3. Gold crosses ₹80 thousand for the first time; The price of 10 grams became ₹ 80,194
