Most exit polls predict lead for BJP alliance in Maharashtra, Jharkhand

In most of the exit polls (post-election surveys) that came after the completion of voting for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led alliance is likely to get majority. However, the survey of ‘Axis My India’ has predicted the return of ‘India’ coalition government in Jharkhand. Its assessment is that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance can get 53 seats out of 81, while the BJP-led NDA can get 25 seats.

Dainik Bhaskar’s survey has predicted a lead for Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra. In this survey it has been said that Maha Vikas Aghadi can get 135 to 150 seats and the ruling Mahayuti can get 125 to 140 seats.

Voting took place on all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra on Wednesday. Whereas in Jharkhand, votes were cast for 38 seats in the second and final phase. In Jharkhand, voting was held on 13 November in the first phase on 43 seats. Counting of votes in both the states will be done on November 23.

In Maharashtra, there is a contest between ‘Mahayuti’, an alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), an alliance of Congress, Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP).

In Jharkhand, there is a contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the ‘India’ alliance. The NDA includes BJP, AJSU, Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), while the ‘India’ alliance includes Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). According to the survey of ‘Matrix’, Mahayuti may get 150-170 seats and MVA may get 110-130 seats in Maharashtra.

The survey of ‘Lokshahi Marathi-Rudra’ has said that Mahayuti can retain power in Maharashtra once it gets 128-142 seats. MVA is estimated to get 125-140 seats and others 18-23 seats. The exit poll of ‘P-Mark’ has estimated that Mahayuti may get 137-157 seats and MVA may get 126-146 seats.

  1. The survey of ‘People’s Pulse’ estimates that Mahayuti will form a government with a strong majority by securing 175-195 seats. At the same time, MVA is estimated to get 85-112 seats.
  2. The exit poll of ‘Chanakya Strategies’ has once again predicted the formation of a Mahayuti government in Maharashtra. According to this, Mahayuti can get 152 to 160 seats. Mahavikas Aghadi is expected to get 130 to 138 seats.
  3. The exit poll of ‘Matris’ states that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form its government in Jharkhand by securing 42-47 seats and the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD alliance will have to be satisfied with 25-30 seats.
  4. According to the survey of ‘People’s Pulse’, NDA can get 44-53 seats in Jharkhand and ‘India’ alliance can get 25-37 seats.
  5. In the survey of ‘Axis My India’, JMM, Congress and RJD alliance is predicted to get 53 seats while BJP led NDA will get 25 seats in Jharkhand.
  6. The exit poll of ‘Chanakya Strategies’ has estimated that in Jharkhand, NDA may get 45 to 50 seats and India Alliance may get 35 to 38 seats.

Dainik Bhaskar’s exit poll has predicted a close contest in Jharkhand. His assessment is that the BJP led alliance may get 37 to 40 seats and the India alliance may get 36 to 39 seats.
