Moto G35 5G Review: Design and display

This Motorola smartphone comes with a back panel with matte and vegan leather finishing. Visually, this phone looks similar to Motorola’s premium Edge series. Seeing it for the first time, you will not say that this is a phone worth Rs 10,000. The company has kept the design of all its series the same. Even after holding the phone in your hand, you will find it to be a compact device, that is, it will neither seem too big nor too small. The phone weighs 185 grams and looks quite slim. The thickness of Moto G35 is just 7.79mm.

Polycarbonate i.e. plastic has been used in the body of this phone. On the left side of the phone you will find the SIM card tray. At the same time, volume and power buttons are given on the right side. The fingerprint scanner has been integrated with its power button. USB Type C charging port, speaker grill and 3.5mm audio jack will be available at the bottom. The green colored model I have reviewed has vegan leather finishing. The company has also provided a transparent cover in the phone box, which will help in protecting the phone.

This budget smartphone has a 6.72 inch punch-hole design display. The display of the phone supports 120Hz refresh rate feature. The bezels on the three sides of the phone are thin, while the chin at the bottom is slightly thick. The company has used LCD display panel in the phone, but it has a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz, due to which the display of the phone is quite smooth in terms of performance. You will also find scrolling fine. Despite having an LCD display, you can use it outside in sunlight. Also, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 has been provided to protect the phone’s display, which prevents the display from breaking if the phone falls.

Moto G35 5G Review: Performance and Battery

Moto G35 has Unisoc T760 5G processor, which works on 6nm technology. This is an entry level 5G processor, due to which you will not get the performance of any mid-budget or premium phone. However, this processor of the phone is fine for basic use. Octacore processor has been used in it, which supports top clock speed up to 2.2GHz.

Talking about the experience of this phone, you can do daily tasks like calling, web browsing, social media etc. on it without any lagging or interruption. Not only this, you can do basic gaming on this phone, which includes games with light graphics. When we tried playing racing games etc. on this phone, the performance of the phone was fine. The phone has support for 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. Due to less RAM of the phone, you may face some problems while using heavy memory consuming apps.

This Motorola phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery. These days, it has become the standard battery for budget and mid segment phones launched. Once this battery is fully charged, you will be able to use it for one to one and a half days. The phone has 18W charging support. The company has provided a 20W charger in the box, with which you can charge the phone from 0 to full in about 70 to 80 minutes. With basic usage, the phone’s battery can last for two days.

Moto G35 5G Review: software performance

Android 14 operating system is available in this budget phone of Motorola. The company has given customized My UX user interface in it, which will give you the experience of stock Android. With this phone, the company offers operating system upgrades for one year and security updates for two years, which means that you will get Android 15 upgrade in the phone. This phone comes with many types of pre-installed apps. However, you can uninstall these apps from the phone. With every security update, some third party apps will be installed, which you can delete. The software of the phone gives near stock Android experience, due to which you will not feel anything awkward while using the phone. However, pre-installed and third party apps may bother you a bit.

Moto G35 5G Review: Camera

This budget smartphone from Motorola comes with dual camera setup. It will have 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide camera. The primary camera of the phone supports PDAF feature, due to which you will like the quality of photos in daylight. You also get good detailing of photos taken in bright light. The camera app given in the phone also works to enhance the photo taken from the phone. However, the picture taken with the phone is pixelated when zoomed, which is natural. You can’t expect photos with good detail from a budget phone. However, the phone’s camera is fine for daily life and social media etc.

Night vision feature is provided in this phone but you will not like the pictures taken in low light. If you are going to click photos in low light, then turn on the flash of the phone’s camera. With this you will be able to click slightly better images. The ultra wide camera of the phone is fine and the field of view is also better. Talking about selfie camera, it will have a 16MP camera. You can take decent selfies with the phone. Talking about overall camera experience, its camera is fine for a budget phone.
