To implement it, the tender process was also done once in October 2024, but did not get success. In such a situation, the tourism board has now sought suggestions from companies to develop tourism sector at both places.
Expression of interest
In this, the Expression of Interest (EOI) has been released keeping in mind some standards of DPR. Under this, companies have been asked that if they get work, then how will they work to develop the tourism sector and attract tourists.
Which such attractions will be added by companies, so that tourists come to visit these two cities. Explain that Gwalior and Chitrakoot were selected by the Union Ministry of Tourism under the scheme.
70 crore rupees are to be done
In March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Bhoomi Pujan of both these virtual schemes. In Gwalior, under this scheme, the works of infrastructure and beautification of Rs 70 crore are to be done.
Under this, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has to develop a tourism sector in Phulbagh region by doing infrastructure development work at a cost of Rs 15.92 crore. Similarly, work is proposed under the project at Chitrakoot at a cost of Rs 25.90 crore at the ghat at a cost of Rs 25.90 crore.
These facilities including parking, food court
Chitrakoot Ghat development, parking, pedestrians, tourist information centers, tourist houses, restaurants and food courts, toilets, interpretation centers etc. will be included for the experience of tourists. Tourists will be attracted under the Heritage Theme in Phulbagh region in Gwalior. Tourists come here now, but they stay for some time and leave for Orchha and Khajuraho.
Heritage circuit will be developed
In such a situation, along with increasing the period of their stay here, the e-Vintage vehicle ride, hand on workshop, projection mapping shows will be developed in Phulbagh region as well as complete heritage circuits. Efforts will be made to highlight the characteristics of the city under this scheme.
Chitrakoot is related to Shri Ram, so there will be focus on spirituality there. At the same time, Gwalior is known for his heritage. Work will be done in the field of heritage here. Efforts will also be made to increase employment in this.
Entry fee will be charged
In both these cities, local handicrafts art will also be promoted through Sovenier Shop and Shilp Haat at selected sites for this. There will also be income from tourists, after spending the amount under this project, the scope of income has also been seen. Admission fee will be charged here. Sovenier shops will be rented.
10 food trucks will also be parked
Apart from this, 10 food trucks will also be parked on the roadside. This will be a no vehicle zone, so there will be a separate paid parking for vehicles. E-Vintage cars will be present for free to roam inside. Apart from this, projection mapping shows will be run in Hindi and English languages, in which tickets will be taken.
Suggestions have been sought from interested companies
Under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme, suggestions have also been sought from interested companies for the proposed development works in Gwalior and Chitrakoot.
