Nayeduniya Representative, Gwalior: The State Highway Murar-Chitora Road connecting Gohad and Mau in Bhind district from Murar in Gwalior will be rebuilt at a cost of Rs 127.35 crore. Apart from renewing the road, its width will also be doubled.

Currently, this road is single lane, which is to be converted into two-lane. Currently, the width of this road is five meters. Large dumpers, trucks, cars and two -wheelers come out here from such a wide road. But now this road will be made 10 meters wide.

Responsibility for MPRDC

The project will be completed with a loan from the New Development Bank. For this, MP Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) has been entrusted with the responsibility. MPRDC has also started its tender process. This road will be prepared for the year 2046, given the need of the future.

The road begins after the cantonment area ends in Murar. This road is fourlane with a length of 3.640 km from here to the bridge built from here to the Gwalior bypass in Baragaon, its width is 14 meters. After this it remains five and a half meters wide.

Enough space for widening

In the length of 100 meters in length towards Chitora, this road becomes forelane, where toll naka is also made. Now under the new project, the number of this road is five and a half meters wide, it will be widened 10 meters wide.

For this, MPRDC will not have to do land acquisition, because there is enough space for widening on both sides from the present road.

6500 vehicles pass daily

On an average, six and a half thousand vehicles travel every day from this road. According to the survey conducted by MPRDC, about 3800 two -wheelers, 600 three -wheelers i.e. autos, 1200 cars, 200 light commercial vehicles, 40 buses and 450 heavy commercial vehicles are moved.

It is estimated that by the year 2046, the traffic load here will be about three times. From here, 11100 two -wheelers, 1700 three wheelers, 3500 cars, 550 light commercial vehicles, 100 buses and more than 1200 heavy commercial vehicles will pass. According to this, the road will be constructed.

Bridges will be prepared afresh

A large box guard bridge falls on this entire route after 16 and a half km, which is built on top of the canal. Apart from this, there are four small bridges. All these will be made afresh, as they all remain in the old design. There is also some part RCC on this entire road, which will be converted into bitumin i.e. asphalt.

Since this is the only road to go from Murar to Chitora, the pieces will be worked here. The first part will be started in the second part after the completion of work, so that traffic is not affected.

Murar-Chitora Road will be constructed under NDB Loan Project. In many places, the road is a dilapidated condition, which will be renewed. The width of this road will also be increased from five and a half meters to 10 meters.
