Mushtaq Ali Trophy final will be held in Mumbai-MP: Madhya Pradesh reached the title match after 13 years with Rajat Patidar’s fifty.

The final of the 2024 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) will be played between Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai. On the basis of Rajat Patidar’s explosive fifty, MP defeated Delhi by 7 wickets in the second semi-final. Patidar scored 66 runs on 29 balls. Mumbai defeated Baroda by 6 wickets in the first semi-final. Both the matches were played on Friday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Madhya Pradesh has made it to the finals of SMAT after 13 years. In 2011, the team had to lose the final against Bengal by 1 run. The 2021-22 Ranji Trophy final was also held between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh, when MP won.

Mumbai wins title in 2022, MP waits for first title Madhya Pradesh had entered the knockouts by defeating defending champion Punjab in the group stage. Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Baroda scored 158 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Mumbai achieved the target of 159 runs by losing 4 wickets in 17.2 overs. Ajinkya Rahane played an inning of 98 runs on 56 balls. He was elected player of the match.
