Muslims want to sacrifice goats and chickens at the sacred Thiruparankundram hill in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. This hill is one of the 6 abodes of Lord Murugan. There is also a Shiva temple here. The latest controversy is of Wednesday (January 21-22, 2025). Muslim League MP Navas Kani went to Thiruparankundram Hill and ate non-vegetarian food with many people. He had come in support of those people who want to sacrifice animals on this hill. This sacrifice is to be made at a Dargah which is situated some distance away from the temple. Nawas Kani has claimed that sacrifices have been made here for years and it is wrong to stop it now. At the same time, the police has said that sacrifice cannot be done on the hill and only food can be taken.
