It has been told by the Home Ministry that the drugs seized in the fortnight from January 11 to January 25 will be destroyed by burning.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drug smuggling. A target has been set to make the country drug free by 2047.

Discussion will be held on ‘MANAS’ portal

The National Narcotics Helpline ‘MANAS’ portal will also facilitate sharing of real-time information with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the States and Union Territories and also discuss the progress of the States against drug trafficking and the effectiveness of the Mechanism on Narcotics Coordination (NCORD). .

Also discussions were held on strengthening the functionality of state forensic science laboratories and increasing their effectiveness, setting up of special NDPS courts for speedy disposal of drug related cases and better coordination among all agencies to combat drug trafficking and drug abuse. Will be done.

3051 drug cases came in one year

In the year 2024, 411 cases related to drug trafficking of commercial quantity, 1808 of intermediate and 832 of small quantity have been registered in the state. In these cases, police registered various types of cases and seized 28 kg 148 grams of heroin, 266 kg 083 grams of charas, 8552 kg 088 grams of ganja, 400 kg 956 grams of opium, 382 kg 277 grams of opium plants, 15441 kg 253 grams of husk, 48436 drug bottles, 3,11,776 intoxicating capsules, 6,91,681 intoxicating pills, 12778 intoxicating injections and other intoxicating substances have been recovered.

More than 4000 criminals reached jail

3051 cases have been registered against drug smugglers in the state and 4652 accused have been put behind the bars. Besides, taking strict action against professional criminals, preventive detention action has been taken against 63 drug smugglers in the year 2024 under the PIT NDPS Act.

Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor himself has released these figures of drug smuggling. In 2023, 326 cases of commercial quantity were registered by Haryana Police. Whereas in 2024, 411 cases have been registered. Of these, action has been taken against 841 big drug smugglers.

FSL report will come in 15 days

To expedite major drug trafficking cases in Haryana, the time limit for receipt of report from Forensic Science Lab (FSL) has been reduced to 15 days, which will not only speed up the trial but will also help in increasing the conviction rate. To make the state drug free, 5150 village guards and ward guards have been appointed in the villages. Village guards and ward guards are keeping an eye on the people selling drugs in the village.
