National Tourism Day 2025: According to the Economic Impact Research Report of the year 2024, in 2023, the tourism sector contributed more than Rs 19.13 lakh crore to India’s GDP, which is more than 10 per cent from the 2019 level. During this period, the region created 43 million jobs, which is 8 percent more than in 2019. It is expected that India’s tourism capacity will increase further in the coming years with government initiative and 2047 vision. Online booking and social media have increased significantly. The economy also has jobs in the tourism sector even during the recession, as it is a vast field and provides promising scope of jobs.

After passing the twelfth with any subject, you BA in Travel and Tourism Management, BA in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Management, BSC Travel and Tourism Management, BSC in Hospitality and Travel Management, BBA in Travel and Tourism Management etc. One can enroll in a graduation course. Apart from this, you also have the option to do MBA in travel and tourism. You can also do PGDM or MBA in travel, tourism and hospitality management.

In the tourism industry, you can make a career as travel planning, customer service, travel administration, sales, operation management, tourism officer, travel consultant, travel specialist, holiday adviser, hotel manager, cruise manager, adventure tour guide etc. There are job opportunities in travel agency, logistic company, hotel industry, state tourism department, cruise tourism etc. for those who do courses in travel and tourism. Apart from this, India Tourism and Development Corporation, State Tourism Board of States and Tourism Development and Corporation Indian Railways can also get government jobs in IRCTC tourism operation division etc.
