Mahant Karanpuri Maharaj of Juna Akhara gave the reason for removing Abhay Singh in an exclusive interview given to NDTV India. Secretary of Juna Akhara, Mahant Dr. Karanpuri Maharaj has said that IIT Baba was not a saint. Baba from IIT was not from the Akhara. He was Mawali. He used to stop and eat at various places. He used to say something on TV anywhere. He was a very wrong person, they beat him up and fired him. He was defaming the Akhara.
He further told that IIT Baba had come here while roaming, he had not come to the Akhara through anyone. Besides, he was not anyone’s disciple. He was saying wrong and was taking someone’s heard name. It has been 20 years since Someshwar Puri died. How could he be a disciple? The Akhara has no information about when he became one. On hearing someone’s name, he used to lie here and there, somewhere in their tents, somewhere in their tents and would run away after eating and drinking. He further said that he was not here for a long time, he used to wander here and there. When everyone came to know, he was not allowed to come and was not allowed to sit near them. Was not given food and was sent away. He was sent away several days ago. No one deals with him nor does anyone make him sit with them.

Engineer Baba’s real name is Abhay Singh. According to his Instagram handle, he is originally from Haryana. Abhay Singh has claimed in many media interviews that he has done engineering from IIT Bombay. His subject was aerospace.
Got a package worth lakhs after completing studies
In a media interview, Abhay Singh claimed that after completing his studies from Bombay IIT, he was sitting in the campus interview. He was selected in this. He was offered a package worth lakhs from a company. He worked for a few days.
Left job for travel photography
According to Abhay Singh, he was fond of photography since his school days. He especially enjoyed travel photography. He wanted to do some course related to this. So one day I left engineering. Then did a course in travel photography. During this time his philosophy regarding life changed. He also opened his own coaching center for some time. Used to teach physics here. But, he did not feel like it. His mind started becoming interested in spirituality.
Used to study philosophy apart from engineering
Engineer Baba told, “While doing engineering, I started connecting with philosophy. Apart from the course, I used to read books on philosophy. To understand the meaning of life, I read articles and books of Neo-Postmodernism, Socrates, Plato. Then at one time Chose the path of spirituality.”
