Forensic teams are collecting evidence from the deceased’s house in New Venkateswara Nagar Colony in Meerpet police area of Rachakonda on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Police have reportedly found traces of bones from Jillelguda Lake. It is feared that these could be the body of 35 year old deceased Venkat Madhavi.

A neighbor said that they lived here and had never thought that such an incident would happen in the neighbourhood. Had no idea about this at all. It is quite scary how someone can do this, that too being an ex-serviceman.

The accused husband used to work as a security guard in DRDO.

Police are interrogating 39-year-old accused and the woman’s husband Guru Murthy. He worked as a security guard in DRDO in Kanchan Bagh on contract.

According to the police, the couple are originally residents of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. He was married 13 years ago and has a son and a daughter. The family was living in a rented house in New Venkateswara Nagar Colony in Jillelguda in Balapur mandal of Rangareddy district for the last five years.

Subbamma, mother of the deceased Madhavi, had lodged a complaint with the police on January 18 about her daughter’s disappearance. After this the police started investigation. According to the complaint, Madhavi had left the house after a fight with her husband. Her husband and murder accused Guru Murthy had also accompanied Subamma to Meerpet police station at the time of filing the complaint.

Husband’s suspicious actions revealed secrets during police investigation

During the investigation, the police scanned the CCTV footage installed in front of the house. So he did not find any footage of Madhavi leaving the house, whereas Guru Murthy’s suspicious actions were seen.

After this the police interrogated Guru Murthy. At first he tried to mislead the police, but eventually he confessed to his crime. The accused gave many shocking information to the police regarding his brutal crime.

According to the information, on January 16, when the children were not at home, there was an argument between the couple. The accused attacked the wife’s head with a heavy object, due to which she died. Then, to dispose of the dead body, he cut Madhavi into several pieces with a mutton cutting knife and put it in the cooker and boiled it. Later the accused packed the pieces in plastic covers and threw them in a nearby lake.

Police busy collecting evidence of murder

Different police teams are trying to collect evidence from both the house and the lake. After the investigation is completed, the police can reveal this sensational case. They are also trying to find out whether the accused also killed a dog and disposed of its body before doing the same with his wife’s body.

A similar incident came to light in Mumbai in 2023. Where a man first brutally killed his live-in partner and then cut her body into pieces. To dispose of the dead body, it was cut into pieces using a cutter machine and then these pieces were ground in a mixer grinder and cooked in a pressure cooker. This incident was also equally heart-wrenching.
