- Buses remained standing in Umaria due to non-issuance of TP.
- Advice for five year permit to bus operators.
Naiduniya Representative, Umaria. The first day of the New Year started with disaster for the passengers who had to travel by bus. In fact, due to non-issuance of Temporary Permit (TP) across the state including Umaria district, the wheels of buses stopped. Bus operators parked their buses at bus stands and other places. A large number of passengers remained standing everywhere waiting for the buses and getting worried.
No TP more than four months
On the subject of TP not being issued for the buses running in the district, RTO Umaria Santosh Pal said that permits have not been issued on the instructions of the Transport Commissioner. The High Court’s guideline is that TP can be issued to buses only for a maximum of four months. Permits should not be issued for more time than this, hence permits have not been issued this time.
He said bus operators should apply for permanent permits, which are issued for five years. From now on, only permits issued for five years will be given to bus operators.
More than fifty buses affected
There are more than fifty buses operating in Umaria district which have been affected by not getting TP, while RTO Santosh Pal says that only four of these buses were issued TP, the permits for the remaining buses were issued from Rewa and Shahdol. Was.
Due to non-issuance of permits, more than twenty buses are parked at Umaria bus stand, while many buses are also parked in Manpur, Naurojabad and Pali. There is no possibility of any decision regarding TP in the coming time. The reason for this is that the Transport Commissioner has refused to issue TP citing the guidelines of the High Court.
Bus operator said – big crisis
Bus operator Anil Singh Sengar says that operating buses is no longer an easy task. Firstly, the competition has increased so much that it has become difficult to calculate the salary of the staff, leave alone the price of the buses. It is becoming difficult to repay the loan for buses. Bus operators face difficulty in paying every monthly installment. In such a situation, is it possible to pay the fee for a five-year permit together? The government should assess the situation of bus operators and take a decision.
