New Year Celebration: Connaught Place, India Gate, Red Fort… Those visiting should pay attention

If you live in Delhi-NCR and are planning to celebrate New Year outside the house, then remember that there are traffic restrictions at many places today. There will be no entry of vehicles after the stipulated time at many places in Delhi. Many routes have been diverted. Therefore, keep these things in mind before going to places like Connaught Place, India Gate, Red Fort this evening.

Be careful while going to Connaught Place…

Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory regarding the arrangements and restrictions to be implemented during the celebrations to be organized on New Year’s Eve. A senior Delhi Police official said that adequate number of traffic personnel will be deployed in different areas of the city. The focus will be mainly on markets, nearby malls and areas like Connaught Place and Hauz Khas where people come to participate in the celebrations. Restrictions will remain in force in the Connaught Place area from 8 pm on Tuesday till the end of the New Year celebrations. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dhal Singh said that this will apply to all private and public vehicles of transport. Limited parking space will be available near Connaught Place on first come first serve basis. He said that unauthorized parked vehicles will be towed away and fined. Police say that vehicular movement will not be allowed in the Inner Circle, Center or Outer Circle of Connaught Place, except for those holding valid passes.

Police said that vehicles from around Mandi House, Bengali Market, northern end of Ranjit Singh Flyover, Minto Road-Deendayal Upadhyay Marg crossing, RK Ashram Marg-Chitragupta Marg crossing, Gol Market, GPO, Kasturba Gandhi Road etc. were diverted towards Connaught Place. Will not be allowed to go any other way. Police said Gol Dak Khana, Patel Chowk on Rakab Ganj Road behind Akashwani, Baroda House to Mandi House on Copernicus Marg, Minto Road and Press Road area on DD Upadhyay Marg, Panchkuian Road on RK Ashram Marg, KG on Copernicus Lane. Road- Drivers can park their vehicles at Ferozshah Crossing and Windsor Place.

After 9 pm at India Gate…

Movement at India Gate will be stopped after 9 pm in view of the crowd. During this time, people can pass by with their vehicles, but will not be able to stop there. Parking lots will also be closed. In case of large number of pedestrian movement, vehicles may not be allowed to pass through C-Hexagon, India Gate area. Due to heavy rush of pedestrians, vehicles were diverted from Q-Point, Sunehri Masjid, Rajpath Rafi Marg, Windsor Place, KG Marg-Ferozeshah Road, Mandi House and around Rajinder Prasad Road-Janpath and Mathura Road-Purana Qila Road etc. May go. Visitors have been advised to use public transport as there is shortage of parking space at India Gate.

Tight security arrangements around Red Fort

Strict security arrangements have been made around the Red Fort for the New Year celebrations. Special arrangements have been made to ensure that the New Year celebrations are not disrupted. Traffic will not be allowed to stop around the Red Fort. Police will be checking by barricading at various places in the city, hence avoid driving after drinking alcohol. Delhi Police has made special arrangements to crack down on those who drink and drive.

No entry at many places in Noida

If you are coming to Noida to celebrate New Year, then you will see no entry boards and diversions at many places. These restrictions will start from 3 pm on Tuesday and will last till Wednesday morning. During this period, there will be no entry and diversion at more than 35 places. Roads have been diverted around Noida’s Sector-18, Garden Galleria, GIP, Logix City Centre, Sky One Mall, Gaur City, Gaur City Mall Greno West and Pari Chowk.
