In the Mustafabad seat, BJP’s Mohan Singh Bisht received 85215 votes and defeated the Aam Aadmi Party candidate by about 18 thousand votes. Adil Ahmed Khan of AAP got 67637 votes. In Mustafabad seat, the Congress candidate also received about 11 thousand votes. However, the difference between victory and defeat was more than this. The most important factor in the Aam Aadmi Party’s defeat proved to be the vote of Mohammad Tahir Hussain of Owaisi’s party. Mohammad Tahir Hussain got 33474 votes.
Owaisi can become a big factor in the upcoming elections
The Delhi Assembly Election was like a pilot project for 2025 AIMIM. After this election, in the coming days, all those Muslim seats of Delhi can be claimed by Owaisi’s party. Owaisi’s entry in Delhi in Muslim vote bank politics has presented a challenge for the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress.

After the announcement of Delhi Assembly elections, Owaisi had talked about contesting 2 seats Mustafabad and Okhla. Both these seats were very important strategically. Okhla assembly seat is considered a Muslim dominated seat. This seat is also considered a stronghold of Aam Aadmi Party leader Amanatullah Khan. But in this seat, AIMIM candidate Shifa ur Rehman presented a big challenge by getting 39558 votes.
Mustafabad seat is also considered a very important seat. On this seat, Adil Ahmed Khan was fielded on behalf of AAP. Owaisi candidate got a lot of votes on this seat and this was the major reason for your defeat on this seat. The Muslim community of Mustafabad was angry with the Aam Aadmi Party after the 2020 riots, its impact was also seen in this election.

Out of the six -affected six Vis seats, three ‘AAP’ and three BJP won
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have won three-three seats out of six assembly seats in February 2020 over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in North East Delhi. A few days after the results of the 2020 assembly elections came, Seelampur, Babarpur, Ghonda, Gokalpuri (SC), Mustafabad and Karawal Nagar came under the grip of violence. Of these, ‘AAP’ won in Seilampur, Babarpur and Gokalpuri. At the same time, BJP candidates have won in Ghonda, Mustafabad and Karawal Nagar.
In Seilampur, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmed of AAP defeated BJP’s Anil Kumar Sharma by 42,477 votes. Ahmed got 59.21 percent votes, while Sharma got 27.38 percent votes. Abdul Rahman of Congress got only 12.4 percent votes. He was a ‘AAP’ MLA from this seat and joined the Congress due to lack of tickets.
Gopal Rai, Delhi convenor of ‘AAP’ and minister in the Delhi government, won the Babarpur seat for the third time by a margin of 18,994 votes. He got 53.19 percent votes, while Anil Kumar Vasistha of his rival BJP got 39.33 percent votes. Mohammad Israq Khan of Congress finished third with just 8,797 votes.
From Gokalpur seat, ‘AAP’ candidate Surendra Kumar defeated BJP’s Praveen Nimesh by a margin of 8,207 votes. BJP’s Ajay Mahawar won the Mulla seat by 26,058 votes. He was 56.96 percent. Gaurav Sharma of his rival ‘AAP’ got 38.41 percent votes. BJP’s Kapil Mishra won the Karawal Nagar seat and defeated Manoj Kumar Tyagi of AAP by 23,355 votes. The vote percentage of BJP and AAP on this seat was 53.39 percent and 41.78 percent respectively. Congress got only 1.95 percent votes on this seat.
