After the victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar on Thursday announced that his party will contest the Delhi Assembly elections, so that NCP can be reinstated as a national party. Addressing a felicitation ceremony organized at the NCP office in the national capital, Ajit Pawar rejected the opposition’s allegations of tampering with EVMs in the Maharashtra elections. He said that the Grand Alliance is united and will form the government soon.

‘MVA is blaming EVM after not winning the elections’

Pawar said that Mahayuti leaders met for the first time on Thursday evening after the election results were declared. He said, “We are united… there are no differences.” Pawar said that the opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi was blaming the EVM machines after not winning the elections. Pawar said, “There is no truth in his allegations. They are blaming EVMs because they did not get favorable results in the assembly elections.

Congress and Sharadchandra Pawar’s party NCP (SP) have expressed doubts over the use of EVMs in the assembly elections and demanded bringing back the old tradition of using ballot paper for voting.

Last year NCP lost the status of national party

When asked about NCP’s future plans, he said that earlier NCP had got the status of national party but now it will work to get it back. “We need to do more now,” Pawar said. We will fight and achieve success.” NCP had lost the national party status in April last year. Ajit Pawar said, “Our next target is Delhi Assembly elections. We will soon hold the NCP national convention in the national capital.” Pawar said he has come to the national capital to discuss the power sharing arrangement in Maharashtra.

What was said about the next CM of Maharashtra?

In the recently held assembly elections in Maharashtra, the ruling alliance Mahayuti has got an overwhelming majority. Regarding the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Pawar said that he and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, outgoing Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and central BJP leaders will hold a meeting, in which a decision will be taken in this regard. Pawar said that the ruling alliance had decided not to field any face for the post of chief minister in the assembly elections.
