In Jammu and Kashmir, the phase of calling Islamic jihad against Maharaja Hari Singh is being started again. There is a demand to declare Hari Singh as a Kafir as a holiday in the name of those killed. This holiday was abolished by the Government of India in 2019. The BJP has opposed these Islamic jihadis being martyred.
The entire matter was started in the budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. On Wednesday (March 5, 2025), PDP MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly demanded that the July 13 holiday be re-commissioned. He demanded it to be given the status of ‘Martyrdom Day’.
BJP did walkout
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and BJP MLA Sunil Sharma strongly resisted it. He said, “He was not a martyr but a traitor.” Sunil Sharma made it clear that the revolt against Maharaja Hari Singh was not a revolutionary but a crowd of fundamentalists.
Under the leadership of Sunil Sharma, the BJP walked out of the assembly. Sunil Sharma said outside that traitors cannot be respected in the name of martyrs. Sunil Sharma said, “I want to tell you today that those killed on July 13, 1932 set fire to a Hindu area and then started Bavla against the Maharaja’s rule. These people were martyred by the Congress Party, but they cannot be considered martyred under the rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ”
BJP MLA from Kishtwar Shagun Parihar also attacked the National Conference and PDP in this case. He said, “They were asking for a holiday in the name of July 13, they were traitors. These people do not talk about Kashmiri Pandits, do not talk about the 90s… The kingdom of the Maharaja wants these people but does not respect them. These people respect Pakistan, due to which millions of our people were killed. ”
Why is there a ruckus on 13 July?
The root of this entire ruckus has been associated with a date of 9 decades ago since July 13, 1931. In fact, on July 13, 1931, the army of Maharaja Hari Singh of Central Jail, Srinagar, shot 21 Islamic rioters. This Islamic rioter came to attack the jail and wanted to attach Maharaja Hari Singh.
In 1948, when Jammu and Kashmir merged into India and the National Conference came to power in the state, they were given martyr status. A holiday was also declared in the state on this day. He was described as a revolutionary agitating for ‘democracy’. A memorial was also built near the tomb of a Sufi saint.
This holiday continued for decades like this. However, in 2019, the Modi government ended this holiday after removing Article 370. However, now the National Conference government in Jammu and Kashmir has been demanded to re -start this holiday. The BJP has strict objections on this.
What is the truth of the martyrs of July 13
In Kashmir, the July 13 consecutive incident in Kashmir is called a revolution and mass movement against Maharaja Hari Singh. It is called ‘Kashmir Martyr’s Day’. It is said that it was a rebellion against the alleged cruel rule of the Maharaja. Whereas in reality it was a fight against a ‘Kafir’ Hindu ruler.
In this regard, Kashmiri Pandit Activist Sushil Pandit In an article Was explained quite well. He believes that the first massacre of modern Kashmir was only then with full conspiracy. Hundreds of people were murdered, burnt alive, made disabled and thrown into the river. Women were sexually abused and raped. Many were forced to adopt Islam when many were robbed in the houses of many.
He has told how when the police took action on the rioters, some of them died, after which he was called a ‘martyr’ by his gang and the new government of Jammu and Kashmir in independent India was remembered on 13 July, honoring them like heroes to make the acts of those terrorists ‘holy’. Come, now let’s know what happened that day. At that time Hari Singh was the autonomous king of Jammu and Kashmir.
At that time, along with Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad-Mirpur and Aksai China, besides the areas of the Shaksgam Valley were also part of their area. However, the British wanted to snatch some areas from them. Maharaja Hari Singh was one of the rare kings who ruled in the Muslim -dominated area. Therefore, the British installed Abdul Qadir, an Ahmadi of Peshwar, in Srinagar under a conspiracy.
After this, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah of ‘Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)’ was also brought. He used to be a person with a political ambition, whose books still consider Jammu and Kashmir as their legacy. A public meeting was held in ‘Shah-e-Hamdan’ at Khanqah Mohalla, where Abdul Qadir gave a provocative speech. The Quran was cited for the war against the Maharaja. He provoked how a ‘Kafir’ can rule Muslims, it is strictly prohibited in Islam.
According to the law, he openly provoked Muslims for the cow slaughter which was banned. Riots erupted when he was arrested on charges of treason. Efforts were made to obstruct the legal process. There was a hearing in the jail premises in Mazaburi. There was a similar hearing on 13 July. However, the mob attacked there and tried to enter the judge’s chamber. The mob attacked the police and started arson.
As it happens even today, the Muslim mob also started stone pelting. The prison prisoners also started trying to escape from there. The police force tried all the maneuvers, but the Muslim crowd did not disperse. Some prisoners were also banished. The local DM then ordered the shooting. There was a crowd towards Hari Parvat Fort. Lathicharge was not having any effect. Maharajganj then used to be the base of the traders, where looting was fiercely looted.
Sushil Pandit writes that after this, Hindus shops were destroyed in a long distance from Bhori Kadal to Ikdal and things were looted. There were also a lot of looting in areas like Safakdal, Ganji, himself and Nawakdal. Books were burnt in the market and there was a stampede among Hindu shopkeepers. Lakhs of goods were looted, they were destroyed and thrown on the streets. However, during this time there was no news of looting by entering a Muslim shop.
The Muslim crowd was separated separately in Srinagar’s thoughts. There was tortured Hindus and their women were sexually abused. By the time the army came, the Muslim mob had caused a lot of damage to the Hindus. After this, the ‘intellectual’ gang engaged in work and named it ‘democratic rebellion against feudal power’. Recall, a large -scale massacre by Mopala Muslims in Kerala was also called ‘the rebellion of farmers against landlords’.
Whereas, actually whatever happened in Kashmir on July 13, 1931 was an Islamic battle against a Hindu king. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah also had a big hand in inciting these riots. He was also arrested and sent to jail. However, the next year the Maharaja apologized to him and started provoking people by forming the ‘All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference’. In Mirpur, Hindus ran away and tried to save their lives. Later, hundreds of them had to live as refugees.
Hindus burnt villages, broke temples
At that time, the elders who saw this incident had told how many were brutally killed and many were also forced to adopt Islam. Several incidents of attacks on temples and gurudwaras came to light. Many holy Sanatani books including Gurugranth Sahib were burnt and the idols of the deities were fragmented. It is called ’88 na Shauransh ‘, that is, the massacre of 88. According to Vikram Samvat, 1988 was going on then.
Hundreds of families after that incident and their books struggled for rehabilitation for decades. According to English records themselves, 31 temples-gurdwaras were completely destroyed. Cases of forced Islamic conversion around 600 were reported. Hindus of Sukkhachainpur and Sanwal (Mirpur) suffered the most damage. The British write that wherever the rioters reached, the local Muslim population supported them.
The villages of some Hindus were made completely deserted, such looting and havoc were created. After this, on January 18, 1932, 50 villages of Hindus were attacked and 300 houses were looted. 40 of these were set on fire. Not only this, 40 Hindus were forcibly made Muslims. On January 20, 1932 in Thanna village, 36 houses were again looted and 8 were burnt. In Sohana village, 84 houses were looted and another village was looted on 28 January.
The Kashmir which was rescued by Maharaja Ranjit Singh from the clutches of the Afghans and then the Dogra kings founded Hindu rule, the non-Muslims there got relief from centuries of atrocities. However, after this incident, the massacre of Pandits started again in Kashmir. There the Constitution of India could not be implemented even after independence and in addition to a handful of separatists, Abdullah-Mufti continued to run Islamic rule here.
Honors of traitors stopped in Modi government
This was the first time in July 2020, when the rioters were not paid tributes in Kashmir. Because of Modi governmentThis is possiblefound to be. In modern Kashmir, the work of chasing Hindus in an organized manner started only. The British conspiracy and the violence of the Islamic mob massacred the Hindus to uproot a Hindu power and later the ‘intellectuals’ gave it a different color. Maharaja Hari Singh gave to a committee headed by Chief Justice Barjor Dalal of the High Court to investigate these incidents.
Maharaja Hari Singh spoke of Indian unity at the London Round Table Conference, after which the British Army Officer Major Boat brought a Pathan named Abdul Qadir and settled there. All this was part of a conspiracy. The British released Abdul Qadir in 1.5 years after taking over power, while he was jailed for 5 years. The Ahmadiyya community of Kadian Nagar helped the British in this whole matter. This report revealed that the British officer Vacfield did not deliberately go to the jail to control the situation, while he had security control.
On July 4, 1931, the news of the Quran’s disrespect was revealed, while thisNothing! Was done However, Wakefield, after investigation, propagated the talk of the Quran’s tall and provoked the Muslims. Insinagar, inflammatory materials were sent against Maharaja Hari Singh. Hari Krishna Kaul, who was made Prime Minister in place of Wakefield, entered into a state agreement with Muslim rioters, but the riots did not stop. This has been the pattern of Islamic riots in many parts of the country, this is still today.
