Chautala went to jail and INLD became ineffective, 3 points
1. When Chautala went to jail, INLD split There was a split in his family after he was jailed in the teacher scam. The younger son took command of INLD. After which all three were expelled from INLD. He formed his new Jananayak Janata Party (JJP).
3. INLD could not come to power again After this split in INLD, it was never able to come to power. JJP won 10 seats in the 2019 elections. BJP had got 40 seats, so seeing the need of 5 more MLAs for majority, JJP formed an alliance with them. He remained in power for about 4 and a half months.
