Champions Trophy is to be organized on Pakistan soil next year in which Team India has refused to go there to participate. Meanwhile, a big announcement has been made by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Pakistan Board has announced the schedule of Champions Cup. This tournament will be played in the next month i.e. December between 7th to 25th.
This is the second edition of the Champions Cup Series after the resounding success of the 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad in September this year. In the first tournament, the Lake City Panthers captured the title with a close-fought victory over the UMT Markhorse. Some of the best players of Pakistan had participated in this tournament, to see whom cricket fans had reached Iqbal Stadium in large numbers. The Champions Cup will be played in T20 format this time in which a total of 5 teams ABL Stallions, Engro Dolphins, Lake City Panthers, Noorpur Lions and UMT Markhorse will compete for the title. All the tournaments will be played in the cricket stadium of Rawalpindi.
