Imad Wasim re-retires: Pakistan’s 35-year-old all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket for the second time within a year. Imad had also announced his retirement in December last year, but after his brilliant performance in the Pakistan Super League 2024, he made himself available for the Pakistan team for the ICC T20 World Cup and came out of retirement. Imad Wasim played three matches for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup held in America and West Indies, in which he flopped miserably. In this World Cup, he scored 19 runs in three matches and took only four wickets. Let us tell you, Pakistan was out of the Super-8 stage. Since then Imad was out of the Pakistan team and on Friday he once again announced his retirement.

Took a U-turn from retirement for the World Cup
Imad returned from his retirement in March 2024 this year after good performance in Pakistan Super League 2024. In PSL 2024, he scored 126 runs in 9 matches at an average of 21, while he also took 12 wickets in 12 matches. In the final, he made his team champion by taking five wickets. Apart from this, one of the reasons for his inclusion in the Pakistani team was his excellent record in CPL. Before the World Cup, Pakistan played a T20 series at home against New Zealand and Imad was also a part of this team.
This is how my career has been
Imad has played 55 ODI and 75 T20 international matches for Pakistan, in which he has scored 986 and 554 runs respectively. He has scored five half-centuries in ODI and one half-century in T20. Whereas during this period he has also taken 44 ODI and 73 T20 international wickets. Let us tell you, Imad was a part of the team that won the ICC Under-19 World Cup title in 2006, but he had to wait a long time to make a place in the national team. Imad made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2015. Whereas he played his last ODI against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi in 2020.
