How to become a Naga Sadhu
It is said that becoming a Naga Sadhu is not that easy. A person is made a Naga Sadhu by the Akhara Committee. To become a Naga Sadhu, a person has to go through many types of examinations. This process takes from 6 months to a year. To get success in this examination, the seeker has to take initiation from 5 Gurus. Which includes Shiva, Vishnu, Shakti, Surya and Lord Ganesha. He is also called Panch Dev.

To become a Naga Sadhu, a person has to completely renounce worldly life. He also offers his own Pind Daan. One specialty of Naga Sadhus is that they eat only the food received in alms. If a saint does not get food on any day, he will have to remain hungry that day.
Performed Pind Daan of seven generations
The 1500 people who have now joined Juna Akhara as Naga Sadhus, before doing so, have offered Pind Daan of their seven generations including their parents. This means that now they have no connection with their family. Now these Naga Sadhus will remain committed to the protection of Sanatan Dharma, preservation of Vedic tradition and public welfare throughout their life.

First registration then interview and then selection
Before becoming a Naga Sadhu, people who wanted to become a Naga Sadhu had to register themselves. After registration, their applications were screened. This investigation continues for six months before being made a Naga Sadhu. Only once it is determined that the person applying to become a Naga Sadhu has no criminal case against him or any record of misbehavior, he is passed this screening. After this, a report about that person is given to the Acharya of the Akhara.
A youth took initiation as a Naga Sadhu
The person who passes this screening is interviewed by saints holding top positions in the Akhara before being made a Naga Sadhu. Only if he passes that interview is he made a Naga Sadhu. After being selected to become a Naga Sadhu, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar performs the rituals to become a Naga Sadhu. After this all the selected candidates are told about the rules of the Akhara. After this they are administered the oath. Only after all this is done, these selected sadhus are sent for the nectar bath.
