Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made Ravindra Singh Negi its candidate. Negi had given a tough fight against Manish Sisodia in the 2020 elections and was defeated by a margin of only 3,207 votes. Congress has made Chaudhary Anil Kumar its candidate. In the 2020 elections, Manish Sisodia won the Patparganj seat by getting 70,163 votes, while Ravindra Singh Negi got 66,956 votes. This time, tough competition is expected between the candidates of the three major parties, due to which the electoral equation of Patparganj seat has become interesting.

Congress had won Patparganj seat 4 times out of the last 7 assembly elections. From 1993 to 2008, Ashok Kumar Walia of Congress was successful in winning the elections in 4 consecutive elections. From 2013 till now, the dominance of Aam Aadmi Party is being seen on this seat. Manish Sisodia won thrice. Now Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Awadh Ojha on this seat. Bharatiya Janata Party has never won this seat.
