A case of murder of a girl living in a live-in relationship has come to light in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. The name of the deceased is Pinky/Pratibha. Police have arrested Pinky’s married lover Sanjay Patidar in this case. Sanjay had killed Pinky six months ago and kept her body in the fridge. The murder case came to light on Friday (January 10, 2025). The reason behind the murder is said to be the deceased putting pressure on her lover, who is married and the father of two children, to marry her.

In July 2024, the ground floor of this house was taken on rent by a person named Balveer. Balveer was not able to use the two rooms on this floor because the old tenant had kept his belongings in them. When the tenant did not arrive for a long time, the lock was broken with the consent of the landlord on Thursday (January 9).
Balveer found that the old tenant had kept his fridge on for a long time. He closed the fridge. The next day, on Friday, a strong smell started coming from inside the fridge. Suspecting some untoward incident, the police were called. When the fridge was opened in the presence of the police, a dead body of a woman wrapped in a sheet was found inside. The corpse was decomposed to a great extent. The deceased was identified as Pinky alias Pratibha Prajapati. Police registered the case and started investigation.

Investigation revealed that before Balveer, Sanjay Patidar was living in a live-in relationship with his girlfriend Pratibha for the last 5 years in Dhirendra’s house. Before this, both of them had lived together in Ujjain for 3 years. Sanjay was already married and the father of 2 children. Pratibha was constantly pressurizing him for marriage for which Sanjay was not ready. In June 2024, Sanjay and Pratibha once again had a fight over the same issue.
Ultimately Sanjay decided to remove Pratibha from the way. He also included one of his associates Vinod Dave in this conspiracy. In June itself, both of them strangled Pratibha to death. Sanjay left the dead body in a room after putting it in deep cool mode of the refrigerator. After locking the room, he promised to vacate the house this month and take away the remaining belongings soon. Despite repeated reminders by the landlord, Sanjay kept avoiding it saying these days.
At present, the police has arrested the main accused Sanjay Patidar in the Pinky alias Pratibha murder case. Sanjay’s associate Vinod Dave is lodged in Rajasthan jail in another criminal case. The police have started preparing to interrogate him also. Investigation and other necessary legal action are ongoing in the matter.
