Prime minister internship scheme: The Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS) has once again opened for application. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced in a release on 20 February, applications for the second round of the pilot phase of PMIS are now being accepted. Under this, more than 1 lakh internship opportunities are being provided in leading companies in more than 730 districts of India. The scheme is for people between the ages of 21 and 24, who are currently not associated with any full -time academic program or employment. This scheme offers such people a unique opportunity to start their careers. The scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2024-25.
6 lakh applications came in the first phase
The first phase of PMIS pilot was started on October 3, 2024, in which an online site (PMINTERNSHIP.Mca.gov.in) was formed to register internship opportunities for companies. In the first round, the last date for submission of applications for internship was November 15, 2024. More than 6 lakh applications were received in this.

Each applicant can apply for three internships by the last date of application. The scheme provides 12 -month paid internship to the applicants with top Indian companies.
How much money will be available in Prime Minister Internship Scheme
Each intern will get a monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000. There will also be a lump sum financial assistance of Rs 6,000. According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Ministry releases, each internship will have at least six months of work experience.
Who can apply
- You should be an Indian citizen.
- You should be between 21 and 24 years of age (as per the last date for submission of application).
- You should not be in full time education or should not be in full time jobs (online or remote education programs are eligible for nominees).
- You have received a certificate of tenth and 12th standard or a certificate from an industrial training institute (ITI), diploma from a polytechnic institute, or bachelor’s degree like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma etc. yes.
