Prime Minister Modi dedicated the Navy’s INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Vaghsheer to the nation at the Mumbai Dockyard in Mumbai on Wednesday. PM Modi reached Naval Dockyard in Mumbai from Delhi. It was here that PM Modi dedicated INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Waghshir to the nation.

What did PM Modi say?
On this occasion, PM Modi said, “…today is a big day for India’s maritime heritage, the glorious history of the Navy and the Self-reliant India campaign. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had given new strength and new vision to the Indian Navy. Today his We are taking a big step towards strengthening the navy of the 21st century. This is the first time that a destroyer, a frigate and a submarine are being inducted into the navy together.”
PM Modi said, “India’s military capability of the 21st century should also be more capable and modern, this is one of the priorities of the country. Be it water, land, sky, deep sea or limitless space, India will pursue its interests everywhere.” Continuous reforms are being done for this purpose.

PM Modi’s Mumbai visit schedule
PM Modi reached Naval Dockyard at 10:25. After this, PM Modi dedicated INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, INS Waghshir to the country after 10.30. After this, there will be an informal meeting with Mahayuti leaders from 12:05 to 12:45. After this, PM Modi will also inaugurate the ISKCON temple in Navi Mumbai at around 3.20 pm.
Another big achievement for India
The commissioning of 3 major naval warships is a significant achievement towards realizing India’s vision of becoming a global leader in defense manufacturing and maritime security. INS Surat, the fourth and final warship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer project, is one of the largest and most sophisticated destroyers in the world. It has 75 percent indigenous content and is equipped with state-of-the-art weapon-sensor packages and advanced network-centric capabilities.
Why are 3 warships special for the Navy?
INS Nilgiri, the first warship of the P17A Stealth Frigate project, has been designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau and has been commissioned into the Navy with enhanced capability, long sea survivability and advanced stealth features. Represents the next generation. INS Waghshir, the sixth and final submarine of the P75 Scorpene project, represents India’s growing expertise in submarine construction and has been built in collaboration with French Naval Group.
