Mumbai:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on Mumbai tour on Wednesday. During his visit he inaugurated a new ISKCON temple in Navi Mumbai. This temple is spread over approximately 9 acres, out of which a grand temple has been built in an area of 2.5 acres. This is the second largest ISKCON temple in Asia.
PM Modi addressed the people after the inauguration of the new ISKCON temple. During this, he said, “Today, due to the efforts of ISKCON, Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan Ji Temple is being inaugurated in this great land of knowledge and devotion. I am fortunate that I have got the virtue of playing my role in such a supernatural ritual.”

PM Modi said that I was just seeing that the outline of Sri Sri Radha Madanmohan Ji Temple Council, the idea behind this temple, its form, the entire tradition of spirituality and knowledge can be seen in it. Various forms of God are seen in the temple. I am confident that this temple complex will become a virtuous center to enrich the faith as well as the consciousness of India. I congratulate all the saints, members of ISKCON and the people of Maharashtra for this noble work.
Remembering Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, PM Modi further said that today on this occasion, I am also emotionally remembering the most revered Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj. His vision is integrated into this project. The blessings of his immense devotion towards Lord Shri Krishna are attached. Today, even though he may not be here physically, we all are feeling his spiritual presence.
He said that ISKCON followers all over the world are bound by the thread of devotion to Lord Krishna. There is another sutra that keeps them all connected to each other, which keeps showing direction to every devotee round the clock. This is the sutra of Srila Prabhupada Swami’s thoughts. He promoted the importance of Vedas, Vedanta and Geeta at a time when the country was in the shackles of slavery. He performed the ritual of connecting Bhakti Vedanta with the consciousness of the common people. He further said that today crores of people in every corner of the world are getting the blessings of his penance. Srila Prabhupada Swami’s activism and efforts inspire us even today.
PM Modi further said that India is not just a piece of land bounded by geographical boundaries. India is a living land, a living culture and the consciousness of this culture is its spirituality! Therefore, if we want to understand India, we have to first assimilate spirituality. He said that those who see the world only in physical terms, see India as a collection of different languages and provinces. But, when you connect your soul with this cultural consciousness, then you see the vast form of India.
He further said that I am satisfied that our government is also continuously working in the interest of the countrymen with full dedication and with a spirit of service. Building toilets in every house, giving Ujjwala gas connection to every poor woman, providing tap water facility to every house, providing free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh to every poor, every elderly person above the age of 70 years Bringing them under the ambit of this facility, providing permanent houses to every homeless person, are works done with the same spirit of service and dedication. Which for me is the offering of our great cultural tradition.
PM Modi further said, “This spirit of service brings true social justice. It is a symbol of true secularism. Our government is connecting different pilgrimages and religious places of the country through the Krishna Circuit. This circuit will be expanded to Gujarat, It extends to Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.
