G20 Brazil Summit: PM Modi reached Brazil’s capital Rio de Janeiro on Monday to attend the 19th G20 summit. On reaching here he was given a warm welcome. People of Brazil welcomed PM Narendra Modi with ‘Sanskrit chanting’. Let us tell you that this is the second phase of his three-nation visit, during which he will participate in the 19th G20 Leaders’ Summit to be held in Brazil on November 18 and 19.

PM Modi wrote on X that he is looking forward to meeting various global leaders at the summit. In a post, PM Modi wrote, “Landed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to attend the G20 summit. I look forward to the deliberations of the summit and meaningful interactions with various global leaders.” He also shared pictures of his welcome at the airport.

PM Modi’s visit to Brazil

PM Modi will attend the 19th G20 summit as a member of the Troika during his Brazil visit. India is part of the G20 troika along with Brazil and South Africa. PM Modi Along with Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Joe Biden will be among the leaders attending the Rio de Janeiro summit on November 18-19. PM Modi, in his departure statement on Saturday, said, “This year, Brazil has created India’s legacy. I look forward to fruitful discussions keeping in mind our vision of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.” I will also use this opportunity.”

Nigeria and Guyana tour

Earlier during his visit to Nigeria, PM Modi was honored with the country’s national award, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). This was the 17th international award given to PM Modi by any country. Apart from PM Modi, Queen Elizabeth II is the only other foreign dignitary to be honored with the GCON. After Brazil, on the third and final leg of his visit, PM Modi will visit Guyana from November 19 to 21 at the invitation of President Mohammad Irfan Ali. This will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Guyana in more than 50 years. (with agency inputs)
