Ahmedabad:
With the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat is building a vibrant sports hub in the urban area. A sports club is being built in the space under the overbridge. The aim of the government is to utilize the potential of urban places as much as possible. Sports centers are being built at those places under the bridges, so that children become aware of sports. The elderly should get a place to spend their time. Food stalls are also being set up here, so that along with health, employment can also be promoted.
PM Modi, on his last visit to Gujarat, had shared ideas with the Gujarat state government for proper utilization of the area below the overbridge. So far, under this initiative, 10 such bridges have been transformed in Ahmedabad, 2 in Surat, 4 in Vadodara, 2 in Rajkot and 2 in Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.

On his last visit to Gujarat, PM Modi had shared ideas with the Gujarat government for proper utilization of the area below the overbridge. The Prime Minister’s objective behind this idea was to connect the youth with sports. Prime Minister Modi said that with the construction of sports centers, not only youth but also women and elderly people will be able to spend their time here. If sports centers are built, food stalls will be set up and employment will also be provided.
PM Modi had also said that some blocks below the overbridge should be specially reserved for parking. Local food should be promoted through stalls. Women should be given more employment through self-help groups. He also said that children should also be included in sports, so that they stay away from the craving for mobile phones. After this, Gujarat government started working on PM Modi’s idea.
