Naiduniya Representative, Dewas. The case of death of a youth in Satwas police station of the district is gaining momentum. After the protest by the state Congress, now the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has expressed his opposition to the incident on X. Gandhi has called it murder.

Earlier on Sunday, Congressmen including State Congress President Jitu Patwari, former minister Sajjan Singh Verma had staged a protest outside Satwas police station. There was a demand to suspend the entire police station staff.

Due to the uproar, the post-mortem also took place late on Sunday night. The funeral took place on Monday. Satwas police station in-charge Ashish Rajput has been suspended in the case. Judicial inquiry is being conducted.

• The echo of this matter has now reached Delhi. On Monday, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi wrote a post on internet media account X.
• It said that on one hand, a Dalit youth was murdered in police custody in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, in Balasore, Odisha, tribal women have been tied to trees and beaten.
• Both these incidents are sad, shameful and extremely condemnable. Due to Manuwadi thinking of BJP, such incidents are happening one after the other in the states ruled by them.
• This is not possible without the help of the government. Such barbarity to the Bahujans of the country will not be tolerated at any cost.

Let us tell you that Mukesh Longre (35), a youth who was called for statement at Satwas police station late on Saturday evening, hanged himself in the investigation room. A woman had complained of molestation against the young man. Due to its investigation, the police had called the youth for statement. While the process of writing the statement was going on, the young man made a noose from the window with his towel and hanged himself. Seeing this, the policemen separated him from the noose and took him to the hospital, where the doctor examined him and declared him dead. On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Puneet Gehlod reached Satwas from Dewas and took information about the entire matter and examined the CCTV footage. After getting information about the death of the young man, a crowd of relatives and villagers gathered in the police station premises. People accused the police of assault and torture of the youth. It also said that they were not even informed about the incident and left the body in the hospital. Strict action was demanded against the culprits in the case.
