The force has recovered the bodies of 12 Naxalites, out of which 10 have been identified. Five women Naxalites are also among those who died. There was a total reward of Rs 59 lakh on him. The people of the Naxal organization themselves took away the bodies of 6 Naxalites. In the pamphlet issued by Ganga, it is written that in this encounter, a total of 18 comrades including SCM Damodar Dada, PPCM Hungi, Deve, Joga, Narasimha Rao were killed.

8 to 10 guards remained under the protection of Damodar.

Damodar alias Bade Chokha Rao was active in the borders of three districts of Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma of South Bastar. Information about its presence was mostly available in Palmed Area Committee. He kept rifles like AK-47 and SLR with him. There were about 8 to 10 guards protecting it.

Hidma And Deva escape came out

The killed Naxalites are Maoists of Battalion No. 1, the strongest team of CRC and Naxalites. The soldiers have also recovered BGL launchers along with weapons from the spot. Once again Hidma and Naxalite Deva have escaped the police bullets. Officers claim that many Naxalites have been shot in this encounter.

Know how the encounter happened

Police had received inputs that about 250 Naxalites, including Naxalite commander Hidma and battalion number 1 commander Deva, are present in the forest of Pujari Kanker located on the border area of ​​3 districts Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma.

Based on this information, on the evening of January 15, about 1500 to 2000 CRPF personnel along with DRG, Cobra 205, 206, 208 and 210 battalions of the three districts Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma were sent for a joint operation.

The encounter lasted for 8 to 9 hours

By the night of 15 January, all these soldiers had reached the core area of ​​Naxalites. At night, forces from all three districts surrounded the Naxalites’ hideout. The first encounter between Naxalites and soldiers took place between 8 and 9 am on January 16. In which the soldiers had killed 2 Naxalites.

After this, intermittent firing continued throughout the day. On the 16th itself, there was intermittent firing for about 8 to 10 hours. The firing stopped as soon as night fell. The soldiers remained sitting in position in the forest. The next day i.e. from the morning of 17th January, the soldiers again conducted a search operation in the area.

Naxalite bunker found, many goods dumped here

While investigating the area after the encounter, the soldiers got a big success. Sukma DRG soldiers found the bunker of Naxalites which was between Tumrail and Talperu river in Sukma-Bijapur border. Dump material of Naxalites has been seized from here. There were weapons and explosives making materials in the bunker.

IG said- Naxalites got a big blow

Bastar IG Sundarraj P has said that, on January 18, Naxalites issued a press release admitting the loss of 18 cadres including Telangana State Committee cadre Damodar. This is a big attack on Naxalites in their important and strong hold area.
