Rahul Gandhi ready to say anything out of personal hatred: Mahesh Jethmalani on allegations against Adani Group

New Delhi:

Congress MP from Rae Bareli, UP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi is under attack for his continuous allegations against Adani Group. Rahul Gandhi made many serious allegations against Adani Group regarding the report of America’s Justice Department. But Adani Group company Adani Green Energy has stated in its filing in the stock exchange that the allegations of bribery and corruption leveled against it in America are completely false. Meanwhile, senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani in the Supreme Court said that Rahul Gandhi’s personal hatred towards Adani Group is so much that he is ready to say anything. Even if those things are baseless.

NDTV spoke to senior Supreme Court lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani on Wednesday regarding the Adani case. Why did Rahul Gandhi show such haste in the Adani case? In response to this, Jethmalani said, “The bribery case against Gautam Adani in America is not confirmed. There is no evidence. Rahul is making false allegations. When there is no evidence of giving bribe, then where did this thing come from?” That our agencies in the country should be alert. There is no allegation in America that anyone was paid.

Is Rahul Gandhi sitting in the lap of anti-national forces? In response, Mahesh Jethmalani says, “It seems that Rahul Gandhi has so much personal hatred against Adani that he is ready to say anything. He keeps making wild allegations without any evidence.”

Jethmalani says, “Nobody is benefited by what Rahul Gandhi is doing. But the loss is to the country, to the investors of the country.” The way Hindenburg Research caused harm to our retail investors and now the American investigation. There have been attacks regarding… who suffered the loss? Retail investors have suffered the most losses.”

Senior lawyer Jethmalani says, “The case of allegations against Adani in America is not so big that a JPC should be formed on it. The allegations made are without any evidence. If America presents evidence, then the concerned people in India “Officials will look into the matter. JPC should be formed when this evidence comes in the public domain.”

He said, “Congress thinks that whatever work is done by foreign powers, we should blindly trust them. These things should be taken forward in India also. This thinking is wrong. There are allegations, but there is evidence. No. If there is no evidence, how can the allegations be true.”
