Actually, Rahul Gandhi met the patients and their families sitting outside AIIMS on the night of 16 January. Rahul had asked everyone what problems they were facing. Rahul had also shared pictures and videos of this meeting on X.

He had written – The burden of disease, the biting cold, and government insensitivity – today met the patients and their families outside AIIMS, who have come from far away places in the hope of treatment.

Rahul Gandhi had shared these pictures of meeting patients in Delhi on Instagram.

Rahul wrote in X post-

A letter has been written to Delhi CM and Union Health Minister to provide better facilities to the patients and their families coming to Delhi AIIMS from across the country. Recently I saw that they were forced to sleep under the metro station in the freezing cold. Where there is neither provision of drinking water nor toilet. There is also a pile of garbage nearby. Such a large number of patients coming to Delhi AIIMS also shows that people are not getting affordable and good quality health facilities where they live. I hope that taking cognizance of my letter, the Chief Minister of Delhi and the Union Health Minister will take immediate steps to resolve this humanitarian crisis. It is also hoped that the Central Government will take concrete initiatives to strengthen the public healthcare system in the upcoming budget and will increase the necessary resources for it.
