Ramki Company of Pithampur reached Pithampur with 12 containers carrying 337 tons of poisonous waste of Union Carbide.

After the gas tragedy, the High Court has given instructions to destroy the waste kept in the Union Carbide complex in Bhopal for 40 years, this chemical waste is to be burnt in Pithampur. The chemical waste dumped in Union Carbide factory for the last 40 years was transported to Ramki factory located in Pithampur industrial area of ​​Dhar.

Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal. 337 tonnes of toxic waste of Union Carbide factory was packed in 12 containers at 9 pm on Wednesday night and sent to Pithampur in Dhar district. These containers reached Ramki Company of Pithampur at 4.30 in the morning. This waste will be burnt here.

A 250 km green corridor was built from Bhopal to Pithampur for containers, in which police were deployed at various places. Via Bhopal, Sehore, Dewas, Indore this container reached Ramki Company located in Pithampur.

Along with the containers, vehicles of teams like ambulance, fire brigade, pollution control board etc. were also present. Thus around 18 vehicles were involved. In the process of loading this waste into containers, 150 laborers worked in 15 shifts and uploaded the waste into the containers.

    • The MIC gas plant from which the leak occurred was made from naphthal. There was also a large quantity of this naphthal in the premises.

    • Due to stoppage of pesticide manufacturing process, the chemical left in the middle of the process has also been taken away along with the waste. A unique number has been created for every container taking this route to Pithampur.
    • The district administration and police were informed about the route through which these truck containers passed. The responsibility of stopping the traffic was handed over to the Police Commissioner of Bhopal and Indore.
    • Via Karond Mandi, Best Price was sent to Indore via Tiraha, Karond Square, Gandhi Nagar, Mubarakpur, Sehore Naka.
    • This route has been chosen because the traffic pressure on this route is less at night. Special containers carrying garbage running at a speed of 50 km per hour. The speed was fixed at about 50 km per hour.

    337 metric tonnes of waste of Union Carbide has been shifted on the instructions of the court, which will be safely disposed of at the plant located at Pithampur.
