Music composer and singer AR Rahman has separated from his wife Saira Banu. Recently, AR Rahman and Saira announced their divorce. The day after his announcement, his troupe’s guitarist Mohini Dey also announced her divorce from her husband. Ever since Mohini’s divorce post, various kinds of strange news have become viral on social media. Many started linking the divorce of AR Rahman and Mohini Dey. In view of the various rumors floating about him on social media, AR Rahman has now issued a legal notice, in which necessary advisory has been issued on his behalf.

This legal notice has been issued from AR Rahman’s ex-handle, in which it has been said to remove all the objectionable posts made on his marriage and divorce. If this is not done, it has also been said in this post that the music composer will take legal action. Earlier, Mohini Dey had reacted on social media to the link between her and AR Rahman’s divorce and criticized all these posts, calling them nonsense.
Legal notice issued by AR Rahman
The notice issued by the lawyers reads – ‘My client had informed about his divorce a few days ago through his ex (Twitter) before completing thirty years of marriage. It should also be mentioned that major newspapers, while releasing the couple’s joint statement along with this news, had cited mental stress and trauma as the reason for their decision. My client had received overwhelming messages from all well-wishers expressing their grief and support in this hour of crisis.
Rahman’s image is being harmed
‘But, some social media platforms and many YouTubers took it as their own. For his personal use, he created fabricated and false stories and wrote defamatory articles about the divorce of Rehman and Saira. It was also said in the notice that there is no truth in these articles and videos. These are also full of obscene content, which is damaging Rahman’s image and also hurting the family.
Remove content within 24 hours
These people are hungry for business and views. Such people are warned not to share this defamatory and derogatory content nor to promote such content. It is also written in this notice that those defaming Rahman and sharing hateful content are informed to remove this content. Remove the objectionable content within the next 24 hours time duration, otherwise a case of criminal defamation will be registered under Section 356 of the Indian Justice Code 2023. In such a situation, under Section 356 (2) of the said Act, there can be a punishment of up to two years along with a fine determined by the court.
